The conversation after the shortlist

The shortlist is the easy part. The questions come after.

You are accountable for a list somebody else will question, sometimes days later, usually without the resumes in front of them.

Judgment drifts across a long list

Read a hundred resumes over three days and the tenth gets a different reading from the ninetieth. Evaluation that moves is hard to defend and unfair to whoever applied late.

The hiring manager wants the reasoning

“Why this one?” is a fair question, and it lands hours after you made the call. A shortlist without its reasoning attached gets re-argued every time.

The criteria are never written down

When the requirements and their weighting live in one person's head, every reviewer scores a slightly different role.

How the standard is set

Written once, applied to the whole pipeline

  1. The requirements come out of the job description

Paste the job description. Talentino extracts skills, experience, education and certifications as separate requirements, and you edit the list until it is the role you actually mean.

  2. You mark the must-haves and set the weighting

Mark the requirements that are must-haves (deal-breakers), and set the weighting across the scoring criteria yourself, or leave each category's default in place. Save the setup as a template and reuse it the next time the role opens.

  3. Every candidate is scored against that same setup

The criteria and the weighting are fixed on the role and stored with it, so the shortlist rests on one standard rather than on the order the resumes happened to arrive in.

  4. The evidence stays attached to the score

Each requirement is graded and scored out of 100, with the scoring explanation beside it. Skills, technologies, soft skills and industries carry a citation back to the line in the resume that supports them.

What you can put in the room

Reasoning a hiring manager can read

Deterministic by design

The engine is built to score the same resume the same way: the same criteria and the same weighting, applied to every candidate, with every score explained. That is a design property of the scoring engine and not a warranty. Results may legitimately differ where the document, the requirements, the weighting or an underlying model changes.

A per-requirement breakdown

Each requirement is graded Exceeds, Fully Meets, Partially Meets or Not Met, so a discussion about a candidate can start from one line rather than from an overall impression.

Side by side, with the comparison written

Compare two to four candidates and Talentino writes the comparative read: where each one leads, what to watch, and the decision hinge.

A record of who moved what

Notes sit on the candidate where the team can read them, and each status keeps a record of who applied it.

Talentino fits an in-house team when

  • You are accountable for a shortlist somebody else will question.
  • The same role reopens, and you want its criteria to come back with it.
  • More than one person reviews, and you want them reviewing against the same list.
  • You want to add screening depth without replacing what you already run.

What Talentino does not claim

  • It is not an applicant tracking system and it does not connect to yours. Talentino runs beside what you already use, or on its own from day one.
  • Scores and rankings are advisory: they order the pile and show the evidence behind the order.
  • The exported PDF carries the requirement scores, the scoring explanations, the flagged deal-breakers and the overall summary. The resume citations you read in the app are not carried into it.
  • We publish no accuracy figure and no time-saved figure. What we can show you is the criteria that were applied and where each score came from.
